Elenger was established in Estonia on December 15, 1864, when Riga businessmen Mr. William Weir & Comp signed a concession agreement with the city of Reval to build and operate a gas plant.

Today, we are the largest privately-owned energy company in the Finland-Baltic region. We operate in six markets – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, and Germany – and serve over 400,000 customers.

We provide customers with natural gas of Western origin and local biomethane. We also sell electricity, including green electricity produced in our solar parks in Estonia and Latvia.

Our group companies manage 7,000 km of gas distribution networks in Estonia and Latvia.

In 2023, Elenger became a billion-euro company, ranked third in turnover, and won the Äripäev TOP award for Estonia’s most successful companies.

In 2024, we were awarded the title of the most competitive industrial and energy company by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

For two consecutive years, Elenger has made some of Estonia’s largest foreign investments. In 2023, we purchased the Latvian gas distribution network for 120 million euros, and in 2024, we signed a 120 million euro agreement to acquire EWE Group’s Polish operations.

Elenger is 100% owned by Infortar, an investment company listed on the Nasdaq Tallinn Stock Exchange Baltic Main List.
