Polish energy companies are adopting the Elenger name
Poland’s second-largest privately-owned natural gas distribution network operator, EWE Polska, will start using the name and brand Elenger. Elenger acquired the group of three companies from the German EWE AG at the end of last year for 120 million euros, which is reportedly the largest investment in Poland by an Estonian company.

“We are adopting a single name and brand across the entire Finland, Baltic, and Poland region. Part of this change was the name change of Eesti Gaas in December, and now the long-standing EWE Polska name change in Poland,” said Margus Kaasik, Chairman of the Board of Elenger Group.
“The name Elenger encompasses our expanded value proposition – electricity, energy, biomethane, and LNG – clean natural gas of Western origin, which we supply to the entire region and which has helped us become the market leader in the Baltic-Finnish gas market,” said Kaasik.
Under the new name, Elenger Polska manages Poland’s second-largest privately-owned natural gas distribution network with a total length of 2316 km and serves more than 25,000 customers. In addition to infrastructure development, the company is engaged in the sale of natural gas and electricity, with energy sales reaching 1.2 TWh last year.
A six-member council has been formed to manage Elenger Polska, chaired by Andres Trink, who previously led one of the largest construction companies in the Baltic region, Merko. Krzysztof Noga continues as Chairman of the Board.
Elenger is the largest privately-owned energy company in the Baltic-Finnish region, operating in six markets – Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Germany – and serving more than 450,000 customers. Elenger’s activities cover the entire spectrum – energy sales and trading, energy infrastructure, and energy production.
