According to Margus Kaasik, Chairman of the Board of Elenger Group, green energy is becoming increasingly accessible to the company’s customers. “The solar power plant in Olaine is our second solar power project in Latvia – last year we opened a power plant there in Nīca, which we will complement with an energy storage system this year. In addition, we recently made the first cross-border biomethane trade transaction in Latvia. These projects mark Elenger’s strategic direction in the field of renewable energy, promoting the sustainable development of the energy industry in our region,” said Margus Kaasik, CEO of Elenger Group.
The new power plant is connected to the distribution grid, has a capacity of 4.9 MWp and is planned to produce 5.3 GWh of renewable electricity per year. The solar park has 7,056 panels, is located on an area of 9 hectares and provides environmentally friendly electricity to approximately 2,500 households.
